Thane, Jul 9 (PTI) A 15-year-old mentally unwell girl from Bihar's Bhojpur district has been reunited with her family after she was rescued in August last year while wandering in Kudal taluka of Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district, officials said on Thursday. She was admitted to Sanvita Ashram on the orders of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), they added. "The girl's severe communication barriers made it difficult to ascertain her identity, address, or family details initially. But the ashram's rehabilitation team patiently engaged with her over several months, carefully piecing together fragmented clues," said Jeevan Aanand Sanstha trustee Kisan Choure. Using Google Search, her village was traced in Bhojpur in Bihar and her identity was verified through critical assistance from the Bhojpur District Control Room, local school teachers, the Ara Town and Nawada police stations, and Rotary Ara Central President Punita Singh, he added. "Following the breakthrough, the girl's father and grandfather travelled from Bihar to the ashram. After strict verification of all legal and identity documents, the CWC Sindhudurg formally handed over her custody on Tuesday," Choure added. The minor's parents expressed deep gratitude to Jeevan Aanand Sanstha president Sandip Parab and the caregiving staff for looking after their daughter with dignity. The entire operations were coordinated by Ashram manager Deu Sawant and coordinators Shailendra Kadam, Vijaya Kambali, and Mayuri Gavade, said Choure. PTI COR BNM
