Srinagar, Jul 16 (PTI) PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday extended condolences to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over the death of his uncle and National Conference leader Mustafa Kamal.
Kamal passed away at a private hospital here on Tuesday after prolonged illness.
The PDP chief visited the residence of Kamal and expressed condolences to the chief minster over the demise of his uncle, the younger brother of his father and NC president Farooq Abdullah.
Speaking to reporters outside the residence, the former chief minister said Kamal was a thorough gentleman.
"I did not know him closely, but he was of a quiet nature. He was not just a good leader, but a good doctor as well who treated people free of cost for many years in Tangmarg," she said.
The former J-K chief minister said the departed NC leader never compromised on his conviction.
"I never heard any harsh words from his mouth against the opposition, he never used harsh language. He never compromised on his ideology and conviction till his last breath," she added. PTI SSB DV DV
