Lucknow, Jul 15 (PTI) A man was injured after an unidentified person allegedly threw acid on him inside a shop in the Chinhat area of Lucknow, police said. The injured man was initially taken to the Community Health Centre on Malhaur Road for first aid and was later referred to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences. He was discharged from the hospital after treatment, police said in a statement. According to police, the incident took place at around 3 pm on Tuesday when the victim was present at the shop along with three of his associates. An unidentified man entered the shop, threw acid at the youth and fled the spot. The victim's three associates, who were present at the shop at the time of the incident, were unharmed. The reason for the attack was yet to be known. The assistant commissioner of police (Vibhuti Khand) visited the spot and later met the victim at the hospital to enquire about his condition and treatment. Police said evidence is being collected from the scene, while CCTV footage from the surrounding area and other available evidence are being examined. Based on the victim's complaint, an FIR has been registered against an unidentified person under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police teams have been formed to identify and arrest the accused. PTI KIS SKY SKY
