Ranchi, Jul 13 (PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday directed officials to make the Jharkhand State University Service Commission (JSUSC) functional in the next 15 days so that fresh appointments can be made.
The CM, while reviewing the higher and technical education department, also asked officials to prepare a special action plan to provide education to students enrolled in state universities through live online classes starting from the 2026-27 academic session.
“In the meeting, along with several directives, the department was also instructed to ensure the prompt execution of matters related to the Jharkhand State University Service Commission, so that time-bound appointments can be made to vacant positions,” CM said in a post on X.
He said the state’s colleges should be categorised based on their rankings, and corrective action plans should be prepared according to their needs.
The government is committed to making higher and technical education more empowered, modern, and student-centric.
“The youth are our state's greatest strength. Our priority is to provide them with quality, employment-oriented, and market-driven education that prepares them for future opportunities,” Soren added.
The chief minister stressed the need for a special action plan to ensure that candidates admitted to Dumka Flying Institute receive the benefits of various government schemes.
Soren said that the benefits of all scholarship programmes run by the higher and technical education department, including the Guruji Student Credit Card scheme, reach the students.
Under the Guruji Student Credit Card scheme, the department has approved loans for 2,888 eligible students so far for pursuing higher education. Various banks have disbursed loans amounting to Rs 64 crore to 243 students, an official release said.
