Amaravati, Jul 6 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said 'last-mile governance' must effectively reach every constituency, emphasising that political management and bureaucratic action should work together to achieve development and good governance. The chief minister directed officials to ensure that the Real-Time Governance System (RTGS) delivers real-time responses to citizens' grievances and emergencies. "Last-mile governance must effectively reach every constituency. Political management and bureaucratic action should work together to achieve development and good governance," Naidu said in an official press release. Stressing that prompt response is the key to providing better public services, Naidu suggested a multi-departmental coordination meeting headed by the Chief Secretary to strengthen inter-departmental response mechanisms. On a recent fishing boat mishap off Visakhapatnam coast, in which fishermen went missing, the CM underscored that the effectiveness of the government's response depends on how quickly and efficiently various departments coordinate during emergencies. Naidu directed officials to ensure that the RTGS Centre functions round the clock to serve the public. Further, he said the government is using AI-based methodologies to "measure citizen satisfaction" in Chittoor district, and added that field visits by officials help understand public opinion directly. Pending applications under the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) must be disposed of on priority, said the CM. He called for a comprehensive action plan for resolving PGRS applications across departments and categories while stressing that collectors and senior officials must take the responsibility to ensure visible results on the ground. Further, Naidu directed officials to take special steps to establish Anna Canteens, which offer subsidised meals in tribal areas and stressed the need to significantly reduce crime against women and curb marijuana networks across the state, among other directives.
