Bengaluru, Jul 13 (PTI) Karnataka Minister M B Patil held a series of meetings with representatives of eight leading companies in Kolkata on Monday, aimed at attracting investment into the state's industrial sector.
During the meetings, he invited the companies to prioritise expanding their investments and manufacturing operations in Karnataka.
Accompanied by a high-level state delegation, the minister met senior representatives of Greenply Industries, a leading manufacturer of plywood and wood panel products; Tega Industries, a global mining and mineral processing solutions company; and Regaal Resources Limited, a leading agro-processing company, his office said in a statement.
He also met representatives of Graphite India Limited, a major manufacturer of graphite electrodes; Vikram Solar, one of India's leading solar PV module manufacturers; and Rupa & Company Limited, a leading knitwear and apparel manufacturer, it added.
The state Large and Medium Industries Minister said the state government was promoting balanced industrial development under its Beyond Bengaluru initiative and encouraged investors to explore opportunities in regions such as Vijayapura, Tumakuru, Belagavi and Hubballi.
He highlighted the immense potential these regions offer in sectors such as electric vehicles and renewable energy.
He also invited company delegations to visit Karnataka to assess the availability of land, water and power, assuring them of the state government's full support and facilitation.
Patil encouraged Regaal Resources, which currently manufactures maize-based products, to expand its operations into processing other agricultural produce, including tur dal.
He said Rupa & Company Limited had expressed interest in setting up another manufacturing facility in Karnataka.
Discussions on these proposed investments would continue to move the projects forward, he added. PTI KSU SSK
