Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Jul 3 (PTI) Jharkhand's CPI-ML Liberation MLA Arup Chatterjee alleged that he received threat calls from fugitive gangster Prince Khan, demanding extortion money on Friday. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter after the legislator of the Nirsa constituency reported the matter to the force. Dhanbad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar told PTI that the MLA has lodged a verbal complaint about receiving threatening messages on WhatsApp allegedly from the gangster. “We are probing into the allegation,” the SSP said. The MLA told PTI that following the advice of the SSP, he has blocked the number from which the threatening call had come on his phone. “The threatening messages were sent via WhatsApp after I did not answer normal calls. An audio message along with a video clip showing firing from a pistol was also sent from the same number,” said the MLA. According to the MLA, the call came on Friday afternoon. “Initially, there were multiple calls. When there was no response, a series of communications followed on WhatsApp—text messages, an audio message, a video clip, and further text messages—demanding extortion money and issuing threats and identifying himself as Prince Khan from Dubai,” the MLA alleged. He said that he would lodge a written complaint in this connection on Saturday. PTI ANB NN
