Seraikela, July 16 (PTI) A man allegedly strangled his wife to death with an electric wire and a gamcha in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharswan district on suspicion of having an illicit relationship with another man, police said on Thursday.
The body of a 30-year-old woman was found in Khajurbagan in Sini outpost area on July 14, they said.
SP Manoj Swargari said an SIT was formed to probe the case and the identity of the body was established. Her husband was immediately taken into custody for interrogation.
"The husband broke down during interrogation and confessed to the crime. He told the investigators that he suspected his wife of having an illicit relationship with another man," the officer said.
He hit her head with a sharp weapon, then strangled her to death with an electric wire and a 'gamcha', he said. PTI BS SOM
