Jharkhand CM congratulates director of Santali film 'Angen' for winning National Award

Ranchi, Jul 19 (PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday congratulated Ravi Raj Murmu, the director of Santali film 'Angen', for winning a National Award. The movie won the Best Debut Film Award at the 72nd National Film Awards. The CM, in a statement, said the honour reflects the "immense creative talent" emerging from Jharkhand and reinforces the state's growing identity as a vibrant centre of indigenous art, culture, and cinema. "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ravi Raj Murmu on this remarkable achievement. Winning the prestigious National Film Award is not only a personal milestone for him but also a matter of immense pride for the people of Jharkhand and the entire Santali-speaking people. "Through 'Angen', he has showcased the richness of Santali language, culture, and storytelling on the national stage," the chief minister said. He expressed confidence that Murmu's achievement would inspire young filmmakers and artistes across Jharkhand to preserve and promote the state's rich cultural heritage through meaningful cinema. The CM further wished him continued success in his future creative endeavours.
