Chatra, Jul 13 (PTI) Police on Monday arrested a BJP Yuva Morcha leader for allegedly submitting forged documents bearing fake signatures and the official seal of the Hunterganj circle office before the Jharkhand High Court, officials said. The accused, Srinivas Kumar, treasurer of the BJP Yuva Morcha, was arrested from Ranchi and later sent to judicial custody after being produced before a court in Chatra, a senior police officer said. His arrest followed the registration of an FIR at Hunterganj police station on July 11 on the basis of a complaint lodged by Circle Inspector Dhiraj Kumar, police said. "A police team led by Hunterganj police inspector Bipin Kumar arrested Kumar from Ranchi's Kanke area and brought to Chatra. After producing him in a court here, he was sent to jail," Hunterganj OC Prabhat Kumar told PTI. He has been booked under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the BNS for allegedly submitting a document in the high court having forged signatures and the official seal of the circle office, the OC said. "Kumar had filed a writ petition in the HC on July 8, accusing the circle officer of framing him using fake documents. The HC sent a copy of the documents submitted by him to the circle office and sought its reply. However, the circle office informed the court that the documents were forged," he said. "All the allegations against me are completely baseless. I have been framed in a well-planned conspiracy. I am being targeted because I have continuously raised my voice against corruption," Srinivas told reporters. He said his arrest was a "murder of democracy" and that the truth will emerge and the entire matter will become clear. PTI COR RPS RPS MNB
