Brussels, Jul 15 (PTI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday participated in the India-EU Business Roundtable in Brussels and underscored the growing trust in India-Europe ties, saying businesses must realise the full potential of the partnership. Jaishankar is on a visit to Belgium from July 14-15 to participate in the 3rd India-EU Trade and Technology Council meeting and interact with his EU and Belgian counterparts in Brussels. The European Union (EU) comprises 27 member states, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Finland. "A pleasure to participate in the India-EU Business Roundtable today, alongside my ministerial colleagues, Minister-Presidents of Flanders and Wallonia, and business representatives from both countries," he said in a post on X. Jaishankar said it was heartening to witness the energy and enthusiasm for deeper business, investment and research and development collaborations. "Highlighted the growing trust and comfort in India’s partnership with Europe, now taken further by the India-EU FTA. And the importance for our businesses to meet the ambition and potential of this relationship," he said. Jaishankar is accompanied by Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and Minister of State Jitin Prasada. Separately, Jaishankar also met EU Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva. "Discussed opportunities for research in clean and green energy technologies, innovation hubs, startups and association with Horizon Europe," he said in a social media post. Earlier, Jaishankar held a meeting with European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Sikela, with whom he discussed advancing India-EU cooperation in connectivity, trilateral partnerships, the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor and green shipping.
