J-K BJP finalises plan for July 20 'Secretariat Gherao' protest, says spokesperson

Srinagar, Jul 17 (PTI) The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP on Friday finalised its preparations for the 'Secretariat Gherao' protest on July 20, a party spokesperson said. The BJP has organised the "peaceful" and "democratic" protest to raise the voice of the people against alleged corruption, arbitrary governance and policies that undermine the interests of the youth and democratic institutions, the spokesperson said. J-K BJP president Sat Sharma and Leader of Opposition in Assembly Sunil Sharma chaired the comprehensive review meeting to assess the preparations for the proposed march to be held here, the spokesperson said. "Organisational arrangements, coordination among various party units, mobilisation of workers and logistical preparations were reviewed to ensure peaceful and disciplined conduct of the march," he said.
