Indian Navy airlifts two critical patients from Lakshadweep to Kochi amid severe weather

Kavaratti (Lakshadweep), Jun 18 (PTI) Two patients in critical condition — one from Kavaratti and one from Agatti — were simultaneously evacuated to Kochi in a single Indian Navy Dornier aircraft on Thursday evening, Lakshadweep administration officials said. Due to severe weather along the route to Kochi, Pawan Hans helicopters were grounded, the officials said. As one of the patients was suffering an extensive myocardial infarction, he was shifted from Kavaratti to Agatti, from where he was safely airlifted along with the second patient, who had suffered a severe head injury, they said.
