Gurugram, Jul 7 (PTI) The Gurugram police, with assistance from the district administration, demolished illegal construction linked to two criminals at five places in Dhankot village on Tuesday, the police said.
The operation was carried out by the Crime Branch, Palam Vihar, on Monday, while maintaining law and order, they added.
The criminals were identified as Narender alias Pavva and Sunny alias Dogra, both residents of Village Dhanwapur, Gurugram district.
Narender alias Pavva has a total of 12 criminal cases registered against him for serious offences such as attempt to murder, assault, dacoity, violations under the Arms Act and other grave criminal activities.
Similarly, accused Sunny alias Dogra has 13 criminal cases registered against him for attempt to murder, assault, dacoity, offences under the Arms Act and other serious criminal activities, they added.
Investigation further revealed that the accused had illegally constructed a borewell and a residential structure near the Dhankot canal. After completing necessary administrative procedures, the illegal construction was demolished, police said.
"Gurugram Police remains fully committed to protecting public land, maintaining law and order and dismantling the illegal economic networks of criminals. Police have made it clear that such intelligence-based strict campaigns against properties acquired through criminal activities and illegal encroachments will continue in the future to make Gurugram crime-free and secure", spokesperson of Gurugram police said.
