Gujarat Dy CM Sanghavi inaugurates HCL Tech's Global Technology Centre at GIFT City

Gandhinagar, Jul 17 (PTI) Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Friday inaugurated HCL Tech's Global Technology Centre at GIFT City in Gandhinagar. He described it as a significant step forward in the growth of GIFT City and Gujarat's IT sector, an official release stated. Sanghavi appreciated HCL Tech's 'Come Back Home' initiative during the inauguration. "Many talented youth from Gujarat currently work in Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, and even the US, away from their families and parents in search of employment. HCL's initiative to bring them back to their home state and provide employment has set an example for other companies," the release quoted Sanghavi as saying. Through this centre, Gujarati youth will now be able to build globally competitive IT careers while living with their families in their hometowns and fulfilling their aspirations, the Deputy CM added. The centre has commenced operations with an initial team of 100 employees, the majority of whom are local Gujarati youth, the release said. HCL Tech also signed Memoranda of Understanding with Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar and Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to advance industry-academia collaboration and nurture future-ready technology talent in Gujarat, another release stated. "The partnerships will focus on research in AI for financial services, related software and skills development, providing students and faculty with hands-on industry exposure and opportunities to contribute to global technology and digital transformation initiatives," it said.
