Gangotri National Highway clearance disrupted due to rain, landslide debris in Uttarkashi

Uttarkashi, Jul 10 (PTI) Amid the incessant rainfall in parts of Uttarkashi, landslides and resultant debris near Nalupani and Nagoon have led to Gangotri National Highway getting blocked repeatedly, officials said on Friday. According to information received from the District Disaster Control Room, several administration teams are present at the site to clear the road, but the rain and falling stones are hampering the process of removing the debris. Officials said the road was cleared for a while, but more debris was tumbling down the hill due to the rain. They said the administration has been put on alert. Due to the frequent road closures, travellers and locals are facing inconvenience. PTI DPT PRK
