New Delhi, Jul 14 (PTI) Four minors who are feared to have drowned in the Yamuna in outernorth Delhi's Alipur area remained untraced on Tuesday, with rescue teams continuing an intensive search operation for the third consecutive day, police said.
No bodies have been recovered so far despite extensive searches by teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi Fire Service, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and Delhi Police, an officer said.
Police suspect that the four boys were swept far downstream due to the strong current of the river, making the search operation more challenging.
Police said that teams in nearby districts and adjoining areas along the Yamuna river have been alerted and asked to remain vigilant in case the bodies are spotted downstream.
The four boys -- Rahul, Anshu, Saurabh and Amandeep, all aged around 15 years and residents of Ibrahimpur -- went missing on Sunday evening while bathing in the river near Hiranki village after they were allegedly caught in a strong current.
The search operation is continuing, and further action will be taken as per law once the missing boys are traced, police said. PTI BM PRK
