Five killed, three injured as SUV rams truck in Rajasthan's Balotra

Jaipur, Jul 13 (PTI) Five people were killed and three others sustained injuries after a speeding SUV rammed into a truck on Barmer-Jodhpur National Highway in Rajasthan's Balotra district, police said. The accident occurred late Sunday near Bhadiyawas village when the SUV crashed into the rear of a truck moving ahead of it, they said. The impact left the SUV completely mangled, trapping the occupants inside. Passersby, who rushed to the spot after hearing cries for help, rescued the injured before police arrived. All the victims were taken to the Nahata Government Hospital in Balotra, where doctors declared three people dead. Five critically injured persons were referred to a hospital in Jodhpur, where two more succumbed during treatment, police said. The injured are undergoing treatment, the police added. PTI SDA MPL MPL
