Falling tree branch leaves man injured in Mumbai’s Andheri

Mumbai, Jul 8 (PTI) A 50-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured when a roadside tree branch fell on him in Mumbai’s Andheri area on Wednesday morning amid heavy rainfall, civic officials said. The incident occurred around 10 am on Nagardas Road near DJ House, close to the Andheri subway, they said. The injured man, identified as Aadesh Gaikar, was rushed to the civic-run Cooper Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, a civic official said, adding that his condition was stable. Personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s Garden Department, police and power distributor BEST were rushed to the spot to clear the fallen tree branch, the official said. Three persons, including an 11-year-old boy, have died in tree-related incidents in Mumbai over the past few days as heavy rains continue to lash the city. PTI KK NR
