Excise officials bust illegal foreign liquor factory in Jharkhand's Giridih

Giridih, Jul 12 (PTI) Excise department officials busted an illegal liquor manufacturing factory during a raid and seized 350 cases of spurious foreign liquor and 4,000 litres of raw spirit in Jharkhand's Giridih district, officials said on Sunday. The raid was carried out in Ghaghara village under Bengabad police station limits late Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, excise department sleuths along with local police conducted the raid and busted the illegal mini liquor factory, an official said. "During the raid, we seized 350 cases containing spurious foreign liquor, 4,000 litres of raw spirit, 25,000 bottle caps, 55 rolls of fake labels, 20 rolls of fake Holograms of different brands, hundreds of glass bottles in 60 bags, and 1,000 cartons," Giridih Superintendent of Excise Shiv Kumar Sahu told reporters. He said that a pickup van laden with cases of spurious liquor and a car were also seized. Further investigation into the matter is underway. PTI COR RPS RPS RG
