Puducherry, May, 11 (PTI) The Puducherry DMK on Monday appointed A M H Nazeem as the legislature leader of the party and R Senthil Kumar as his deputy.
A decision was taken in this regard at a high level meeting chaired by Puducherry DMK propaganda secretary and Lok Sabha MP S Jagathrakshakan, a party release said.
Of the total 30 constituencies in Pudhucherry, the DMK won five assembly seats. Nazeem won from Karaikal South assembly constituency by a margin of 5,862 against his nearest INC rival A V S Sakthivel Prabu.
Likewise, Senthil Kumar secured 10,520 votes in Bahour constituency by beating his nearest INC rival T Thiagarajan, who registered 8,123 votes. The victory margin was 2.397 votes.
Elections to Puducherry territorial assembly were held on April 9 and the counting of voters took place on May 4. AINRC-led NDA won the polls. PTI SNR SNR SA
