New Delhi, Jul 14 (PTI) The Delhi Police has arrested two persons allegedly linked with the Goldy Brar-Lipin Nehra gang, recovering six firearms and eight live cartridges from their possession, an official said on Tuesday.
Police claimed the arrests have foiled a conspiracy to supply weapons to stoke gang warfare and extortion-related crimes in the capital.
The accused were identified as Randeep alias Rinku (36), and Hitesh Kumar (23), both residents of Haryana.
According to police, the accused were travelling in an SUV on the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) when they were intercepted near Tajpur in Dwarka. They allegedly attempted to flee after spotting police but were chased down.
During a search, police recovered two pistols and eight live cartridges from the accused. Four more pistols, including two single-shot pistols, were allegedly found concealed inside a bag kept in the vehicle.
An FIR was registered in this connection under relevant provisions and the suspects were arrested, police said.
They said Hitesh and Randeep had allegedly collected the consignment of illegal arms from suppliers in Sardhana in Uttar Pradesh, on the directions of gangster Lipin Nehra, who is operating from Canada.
"The weapons were allegedly meant to be delivered to other gang operatives for use in violent crimes, including extortion and gang rivalry," a senior police officer said.
Police said Lipin Nehra allegedly communicated with his associates in India through encrypted application to coordinate movement of illegal arms.
They said Hitesh was among the key conspirators in an extortion case where a businessman from Haryana's Pataudi was allegedly threatened and told to pay up Rs 1 crore in March 2025. He was arrested in the case, and remained in judicial custody for several months before walking out on bail.
Subsequently, he resumed contact with the gang, police said.
Randeep, too, has previous criminal involvements in Haryana and Punjab. Police said after his release from jail earlier this year, he came in contact with members of the Lipin Nehra gang and was tasked with delivering illegal firearms. PTI BM ARB ARB
