New Delhi, Jul 15 (PTI) The Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet within 11 days of registering an FIR in a sexual exploitation case, officials said on Wednesday.
The case was filed on the complaint of a woman, who accused a man of exploiting her sexually on the false promise of marriage Asif alias Honey, the man accused, was arrested a month ago, police said.
The case was registered at Janakpuri Police Station under sections 69 (sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means etc), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
In her complaint, the woman alleged that the accused concealed his religion and established a physical relationship with her on the false promise of marriage. She alleged that he later refused to marry her, assaulted her, and threatened to upload her private photographs and videos on social media.
The police said the investigation was taken up on priority.
Evidence, they said, indicated that the two had been in continuous contact. Attendance records from the accused's workplace were also collected as part of the probe.
Usually it takes up to a month for the police to file a chargesheet in less grave crimes. More complex matters may require more than that. PTI BM SMV VN VN
