New Delhi, Jul 15 (PTI) Delhi Police on Wednesday denied allegations of misconduct by personnel of Samaypur Badli police station after a video accusing the staff of forcible entry and misbehaviour went viral, officials said.
In a clarification, police said the allegations stemmed from an investigation into an assault case registered on June 10 at Samaypur Badli police station.
According to the police, four people -- Sachin, Jeetu, Bharat and Chinta Devi -- were named as accused in the case registered under sections 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS.
"Their anticipatory bail pleas were rejected by a court, following which Jeetu was arrested, while the remaining accused are yet to be apprehended. The woman making the allegations is the sister of absconding accused Sachin and Bharat," police in the clarification statement said.
Acting on information that the wanted accused were present at their residence, a police team visited the premises to apprehend them, but they were not found there, it read.
A notice under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) was affixed at the house, it said.
The police maintained that no personnel entered the house and that allegations of forcible entry, abuse, threats and misbehaviour were not substantiated by the material available during the inquiry. PTI BM BM APL APL
