Delhi govt promotes 252 MCD teachers to TGT posts

New Delhi, Jul 7 (PTI) Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has promoted 252 primary and nursery teachers of MCD schools to the post of Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), according to an official order. The promotions include 247 Assistant Teachers (Primary) and five Assistant Teachers (Nursery), who have been elevated to TGT and TGT (MIL) posts on a regular basis following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee, according to a circular issued on Tuesday. It said the promotions have been made against vacancies for the year 2024, as well as anticipated vacancies for 2025. The promoted teachers will assume charge in accordance with the department's directions. The DoE said the promotions are subject to vigilance clearance and fulfilment of all eligibility conditions prescribed under the recruitment rules for the posts. It added that the promotions will take effect from the date the teachers assume charge of their new posts. These teachers are to be transferred to the Delhi government schools, it added.
