Agra, Jul 9 (PTI) Police on Thursday claimed to have unearthed a major cyber fraud network after conducting simultaneous raids at around 100 locations across Agra based on complaints received from 13 states.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Aditya said 178 complaints related to cyber fraud were received by the department with raids being conducted across 13 police station areas in the city, leading to the registration of 16 FIRs and the detention of 60 people in a single day.
Preliminary interrogation has revealed that the network allegedly duped victims of around Rs 50 crore through online gaming frauds, matrimonial scams and ATM card swapping, the officer said.
The detained persons are being questioned and further investigation is underway, police added. PTI COR KIS RHL RHL
