Beed, Jul 18 (PTI) A court clerk was booked in Beed district for allegedly cheating his nephew of Rs 19 lakh on the promise of getting him a job in the state revenue department, a police official said on Saturday. The Kaij police station official identified the accused as Dagdu Vitthalrao Hangarge, who is employed as a clerk in the district and sessions court in Parbhani. "Hangarge cheated his nephew Amol Chigure of Rs 19 lakh after promising to get him posted as a clerk or assistant in the revenue department. After taking money between June and July 2022, the accused started avoiding Chigure when the latter began seeking updates," the official said. Chigure finally approached Kaij police station, where a case of cheating and other expenses was registered against Hangarge. Further probe into the case is underway, the official added. PTI COR BNM
