Mumbai, Jul 10 (PTI) The Maharashtra assembly witnessed a rare, light-hearted moment on Friday when BJP MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar used a unique wildlife analogy to slam the state government for a 12-year delay in submitting a response.
Quipping that the House should officially pitch its record-breaking delay to the Guinness World Records, Mungantiwar noted that the water supply department had out-slept the Eastern Pygmy Possum — famed for its 367-day digestive slumber — by sitting on an issue for more than a decade.
"At least send it to the Guinness World Records through your department. It will become a world record in the name of this House," the MLA remarked, eliciting laughs during the Question Hour. PTI MR ARU
