Guwahati, Jul 11 (PTI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday condoled the death of 15 Indian tourists in a boat capsize in Vietnam.
"This is a deeply tragic and heartbreaking incident," Sarma said in a post on X, sharing the Indian Embassy in Vietnam's post containing the names of the victims.
"On behalf of the people of Assam, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. We stand with them in this hour of grief and pray for the sadgati of the departed souls," he added.
Fifteen Indian tourists were killed after the speedboat they were travelling in capsized off Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island, the Indian Embassy in Hanoi said.
There were 36 people on board, including 32 Indian tourists and four local crew members, of which 21 were rescued. PTI SSG MNB
