New Delhi, Jul 17 (PTI) Senior IPS officer Anurag Kumar on Friday took charge as the Commissioner of Delhi Police, succeeding Satish Golcha as the national capital's top officer. A 1994-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, Kumar was serving as Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau before being appointed to the post by the Centre. The order directed Golcha, a 1992-batch AGMUT cadre officer, to report to the Delhi Lieutenant Governor for his next posting. Golcha had been serving as the Delhi Police Commissioner since August 22, 2025. Before he was appointed the city's police chief, he was the Director General of Tihar Jail. PTI BM RUK RUK
