Ahmedabad, Jul 17 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually inaugurated Pratapnagar, Godhra, Porbandar and Bhaktinagar railway stations in Gujarat that have been redeveloped at an investment of Rs 109 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, an official said.
These are among 75 such redeveloped railway stations nationwide that Modi dedicated under the scheme, marking another milestone in the modernisation of Indian Railways, stated an official release.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the inauguration ceremony held at Pratapnagar railway station under Vadodara division. He also visited a special exhibition highlighting its transformation with state-of-the-art facilities, the release said.
"With four more railway stations - Pratapnagar, Bhaktinagar, Porbandar and Godhra dedicated to the nation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Gujarat now has 22 redeveloped Amrit Bharat stations," it said.
Notably, Modi had earlier inaugurated 18 redeveloped railway stations in the state in May last year.
"As many as 87 more railway stations across Gujarat are currently undergoing redevelopment, reflecting the state's continued commitment to strengthening railway infrastructure and supporting India's railway modernisation mission," the release informed. PTI KA BNM
