New Delhi, Jul 8 (PTI) An All India Students' Association (AISA) member and student was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Wednesday after his health deteriorated on the 11th day of an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, the student organisation said. According to AISA, Hrishikesh, the first president of Barak Hostel at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and an AISA activist, was taken to the hospital around 7 pm after having said to have been experiencing severe chest pain and an inability to move his limbs over the previous 24 hours. The organisation claimed that doctors decided to admit him and administer intravenous fluids, effectively ending his hunger strike on medical grounds. AISA said four of its members, All India President Neha, Uttar Pradesh President Manish, Delhi University Vice President Deepak, and Uttar Pradesh President Manish, along with climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, continue their indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar. The hunger strike is being held in support of the ongoing protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities. In a statement, AISA alleged that the Centre was ignoring the protesters' demands despite the deteriorating health of those on the hunger strike. The organisation also reiterated its call for Pradhan's resignation. Earlier, speaking to PTI, Neha said the students had no fixed deadline for ending the hunger strike and would continue the protest until Pradhan resigned. The protest at Jantar Mantar has been ongoing for over two weeks. PTI AHD MPL MPL
