Bokaro, Jul 8 (PTI) Five people were killed in two separate road accidents in Jharkhand's Bokaro district, police said on Wednesday.
Three persons were killed when their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Berani More on Tuesday, they said.
"The accident occurred on the Tata-Dhanbad Highway near Berani More when an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle while they were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony in West Bengal. The deceased were identified as Arayan Mahto of Bhandaro village, Amar Mahto of Santaldih, and Sumit Mahto of Bhawanipur side in Chas Block. All were aged between 18 and 19," officer in charge of Pindrajora police station Ravi Kumar said.
He said that all three died on the spot. The bodies were handed over to their families after post-mortem examinations.
In the second accident, a motorcycle collided with a cement-laden truck under Nawadih police station area on Tuesday, police said.
Nawadih police station officer-in-charge Amit Kumar Soni said, "The accident took place near Chapri. The deceased were identified as Sunil Mahto, a resident of Nawadih village, and Pawan Mahto of Katghara village within the same police station area."
