3 dead, 1 in hospital after family's suicide bid in Rajasthan's Karauli

Jaipur, Jul 20 (PTI) Three members of a family died and another is battling for life after allegedly consuming poison in Rajasthan's Karauli district on Monday, police said. The incident took place in Baloti village. The police said that Ram Dayal (47), his wife Raj Bai (45), and their two sons, Laxmi Narayan (25) and Vijayraj (23), allegedly consumed poison at their residence. Preliminary investigation suggests that the family had been under severe mental stress as Vijayraj had been suffering from a prolonged illness, the police said. Neighbours rushed the four to a nearby hospital after their condition deteriorated. "Ram Dayal, Raj Bai and Laxmi Narayan have died while Vijayraj is undergoing treatment at SMS hospital in Jaipur," the police said. The matter is being investigated further. PTI SDA APL APL
