28 held for crimes against women, children in Jharkhand’s Hazaribag

Hazaribag, Jul 8 (PTI) Twenty-eight people were arrested in connection with various cases related to crimes against women and children in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district, police said on Wednesday. A special operation was conducted across the district during the night on Monday and Tuesday, a police statement said. “As many as 30 teams, comprising 107 police officers, were constituted on the direction of the Hazaribag superintendent of police to conduct the operation across the district. During the raids, the teams arrested a total of 28 absconding criminals and accused,” it said. Similar raids will be conducted in the future to curb crimes against women and children in the district, the statement added. The police also made an appeal to the public to immediately inform the nearest police station about any criminal elements in their area, it said. PTI SAN SAN BDC
