2 held for operating illegal gun factory in Jharkhand''s Ramgarh

Ramgarh, Jul 9 (PTI) A couple has been arrested for allegedly operating an illegal gun manufacturing unit in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district, a police officer said. Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Hazaribag and Ramgarh police conducted a raid at a house in AK Colliery Datton village and unearthed the gun factory, he said. “The accused couple hails from Bihar’s Nawada district. They were not only involved in manufacturing illegal arms, but had also supplied those to criminals,” SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat said on Wednesday evening. During the raid, police seized three unfinished pistols, nine magazines, a welding machine and other tools, Lunayat said. A case has been lodged against the accused under sections of the BNS and the Arms Act, he added. Further investigation is underway. PTI CORR RPS RBT
