2 dead, one injured as truck rams tractor in UP's Hapur

Hapur (UP), Jul 18 (PTI) Two men from Amroha died and one was injured after a speeding truck rammed into their tractor-trolley from behind here on Saturday morning, police said. The impact of the collision, which took place in the Babugarh police station area of Hapur, was so severe that the tractor-trolley climbed onto the road divider and then overturned. According to reports, the tractor-trolley was travelling from Hapur towards Amroha with three people on board. As it ascended the flyover, a truck approaching from behind rammed into it. Station House Officer Babugarh police station Praveen Kumar said that all the three occupants were thrown onto the road upon impact. Arif (45) died on the spot, Kamil (44) succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital, while Mehraj had a narrow escape and sustained only minor injuries. Police reached the spot upon receiving information about the incident and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Efforts are underway to apprehend the truck driver, who abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, using the CCTV footage and the vehicle's registration number, police said. PTI COR NAV MDO MDO
