2 dead, 1 critical after jeep rams motorcycle in UP's Banda

Banda, July 14 (PTI) Two were killed while another was critically injured after their motorcycle was hit by a jeep from behind in the Naraini area here, officials said on Tuesday. Circle Officer Atarra Pratigya Singh said that a speeding jeep ran over three men riding a motorcycle near Padmai village under Naraini police station area on Monday evening. She stated that the three injured were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared Shatrughan Gupta (45) and Halku Trivedi (62) -- both residents of Chhathi Bamhori village in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district -- dead, while Ramnarayan Gupta (65), who sustained serious injuries, is undergoing treatment. The CO said that the three men were travelling on a single motorcycle to visit the Kamadnath temple in Chitrakoot. Singh added that the jeep driver, Raj Shekhar Dwivedi, has been arrested and his vehicle has been seized. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for a post-mortem examination, the police said.
