Medininagar, Jul 10 (PTI) Police have registered an FIR against 145 people, including 25 named accused, for allegedly pelting stones at security personnel, injuring two jawans, and halting road construction work in Jharkhand's Palamu district, an official said on Friday. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Sadar Circle Officer Jago Mahto at Sadar Police Station, the police station in-charge Afzal Ansari said. At least 10 people, including two police personnel, were injured on Thursday after villagers clashed with government employees and security forces over compensation for land acquisition in Jharkhand's Palamu district. The incident occurred near a forest checkpost in Chiyanki area under the Sadar police station limits on Thursday when the teams of local administration and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) reached the site to pave the way for work for the expansion of NH 39, connecting Palamu to Aurangabad in Bihar. The protesters allegedly pelted the police and government vehicles with stones, which left two personnel, including a woman constable, injured, he said. The sub-divisional magistrate of Palamu Sadar had imposed prohibitory orders within the stipulated limits of the construction site for Thursday and Friday, but villagers gathered there in violation of the order, the circle officer said.
