Himachal Pradesh subsidizes fencing and other protection measures for farmers whose crops are damaged by wild animals (monkeys, boars, deer).

What you get

Himachal Pradesh farmers face severe crop losses (estimated ₹400 crore per year) from wild monkeys (rhesus macaques), wild boars, and deer. Under this scheme, farmers get 80% subsidy on chain-link fencing material for protecting agricultural fields. Maximum subsidy of ₹1.5 lakh per farmer per year. Additionally, community fencing for villages is available at 90% subsidy. Crop compensation of ₹15,000–₹40,000 per acre for verified wild animal damage is also provided.

  • Farmer with agricultural land in Himachal Pradesh
  • Land in notified monkey/wild animal problem areas
  • Annual income below ₹1.5 lakh for maximum subsidy
