Gond Tribal Medicine and Mahua Plant Knowledge of Nizamabad

The Gond tribal community of Nizamabad's forested northern parts maintain a traditional medicine system centred on forest plants. Mahua (Madhuca longifolia) — the dominant flowering tree — provides a seed oil used medicinally as a skin emollient and hair tonic. Gond healers use Terminalia arjuna bark for cardiac conditions, Andrographis paniculata for fevers, and Tinospora cordifolia for liver health.
