Kurukshetra Pilgrimage Craft Conch Shell Rudraksha
Contributed by Swadesi Editorial Team
Craft sellers in Kurukshetra's temple precincts specialise in religious pilgrimage items including conch shells (shankhus) polished and engraved for worship, rudraksha bead malas, copper puja vessels, and printed religious texts and images of the Gita. Many artisans source items from wholesale centres in Vrindavan and Haridwar and add value through engraving, stringing, and combination sets sold to pilgrims from across India. Kurukshetra's pilgrimage craft market is concentrated around Brahma Sarovar, and the weekly Gita Jayanti mela creates intense demand spikes that sustain year-round artisan livelihoods in the city.
