Berhampur Pata Silk Saree Ganjam Odisha

Berhampur (Brahmapur) in Ganjam district is famous for its Pata silk sarees — colourful Odisha silk sarees woven with supplementary weft patterns in brilliant contrasting colours. The town's weavers produce the double-kumbha border saree, the fish border (mach pata), and the tree-of-life (kalpa briksha) design. Pata sarees are worn at Odia weddings and festivals. The town also produces saris in semi-silk, cotton, and bandha designs. Berhampur's weaver cooperatives directly supply to Odisha government handloom outlets.
