Hussaini made his Tamil film debut in K. Balachander’s Punnagai Mannan (1986), where he portrayed a dancer who mistreated the female lead, played by Revathi. He later appeared in Velaikaran (1987) alongside Rajinikanth and Unnai Solli Kutramillai (1990) with Karthik. His acting career also extended to Hollywood, as he was part of the 1988 English-language film Bloodstone.
One of his most notable film contributions was in Badri (2001), where he played Thalapathy Vijay’s fitness coach and contributed to the song “Travelling Soldier.” He was widely recognized as a personal trainer for several South Indian film stars, including Pawan Kalyan and Vijay, helping them prepare for physically demanding roles.
Devotion to Jayalalitha and Unique Artistry
Hussaini was a staunch supporter of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha. His admiration for her was reflected in his artistic expressions, as he famously painted 56 portraits of her using his own blood to mark her 56th birthday in 2004. In 2013, he sculpted a bust of Jayalalitha using frozen blood, demonstrating his extreme devotion.
In 2015, he went even further by crucifying himself for over six minutes as a symbolic act, praying for her electoral victory. His dramatic and unconventional gestures earned him both admiration and controversy.
Contributions to Archery and Sports Training
Apart from martial arts, Hussaini played a significant role in promoting archery in Tamil Nadu. As the founder and general secretary of the Archery Association of Tamil Nadu, he worked to popularize the sport and mentored several aspiring archers, aiming to raise the state’s presence in national and international competitions.
