Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko and his family were caught in a devastating road accident early Friday morning (6th June) near Palacode in Dharmapuri district, Tamil Nadu. While the actor sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital, the accident tragically claimed the life of his father, C. P. Chacko, who succumbed at the scene.

Collision with Stationary Truck

According to police and eyewitness accounts, the actor and his family were traveling in a car en route from Ernakulam to Bengaluru for Shine’s medical consultation. The mishap occurred around 6:30 AM when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck on the highway near Hogenakkal, Salem district.

Driver statements revealed that the car was moving at approximately 60–80 km/h before the truck suddenly swerved into their path. The driver confirmed that no other vehicles were present on the road at the time.

Immediate Aftermath and Fatality

The impact was severe, resulting in the instantaneous death of C. P. Chacko. His son, Shine, along with other family members, sustained moderate to severe injuries. They were immediately transported to a nearby hospital in Palakottai, which attended to them following the crash.

Shine was subsequently admitted and remains under medical care. His exact condition is yet to be officially disclosed, but reports indicate he is stable and receiving treatment.

Investigation Underway

Local police have launched an inquiry into the accident. Key questions include:

  • The cause behind the truck’s sudden swerve.
  • Whether the truck was properly parked with hazard lights on.
  • The identity and status of the truck driver.

Authorities are inspecting the scene and collecting CCTV footage and eyewitness testimonies to establish a definitive sequence of events.
