Mathura Pedha Sweet Dairy Uttar Pradesh

Mathura is famous for its Mathura Pedha — a traditional milk-based sweet made by reducing whole milk and sugar to a thick fudge texture. GI-tagged, the pedha is the prasad associated with Lord Krishna and is sold at every temple in Mathura and Vrindavan. The dairy tradition has deep roots in the Braj region, where Gokul's cowherd culture gave rise to khoya-based sweets. Hundreds of traditional halwais in Mathura's Holi Gate area have produced pedha for generations, supplying pilgrims and visitors.
