Ludhiana Bicycle Parts Manufacturing Hub
Contributed by Swadesi Editorial Team
Ludhiana produces over 70 percent of India's bicycles and bicycle components, with hundreds of units in Giaspura, Focal Point, and Sahnewal manufacturing frames, rims, chains, brakes, and seat posts that are assembled into bicycles by brands like Hero Cycles, Atlas, and Avon. The cluster operates as an intricate supply chain with foundries supplying forgings to machining units that supply assembly plants. Hero Cycles, headquartered in Ludhiana, is the world's largest bicycle manufacturer by volume, and the industry employs over 200,000 workers in the city, supporting livelihoods of migrant workers from UP and Bihar.
