Dausa Abhaneri Stepwell Chand Baori Rajasthan Heritage
Contributed by Swadesi Editorial Team
Dausa district between Jaipur and Agra contains the Chand Baori at Abhaneri village — a 10th century stepwell with 3,500 identical steps in 13 storeys descending 20 metres, considered one of the world's most geometric and visually stunning stepwell architectures. The Abhaneri Harshat Mata temple opposite the Chand Baori has extraordinary sculptural panels. Dausa district itself grows wheat, mustard, and jowar on the Aravallis' eastern foothills, and its position on the Delhi-Jaipur highway makes it a key transit and agricultural market district in the Rajasthan-Delhi economic corridor.
