Sirsa Cotton Handloom Weaving Traditional

Contributed by Swadesi Editorial Team

Sirsa district's handloom community produces cotton khes, dhotar, and dhobi cloth on pit looms in weaver villages of Ellenabad and Rania tehsils, maintaining a small but authentic handloom sector that supplies local household demand and craft buyers. The weavers of Sirsa use cotton yarn from the district's ginning clusters and weave double-cloth khes fabric in traditional geometric patterns passed within weaving families. Sirsa handloom weavers participate in Haryana state crafts exhibitions and the Surajkund mela, where authentic hand-woven fabric from northern Haryana attracts sustainable fashion buyers seeking traceable Indian textile production.
