Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 6 (PTI) Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday extended Bakrid greetings to the people of the state on the eve of the festival and wished that the celebration inspires unity and harmony among everyone.

Arlekar, in a statement issued by Raj Bhavan, greeted the “Muslim brothers and sisters of Kerala” on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Ad’ha” (Bakrid).

“Eid-ul-Ad’ha glorifies the spirit of sacrifice and everlasting faith in the Almighty, inspiring humanity to stay united through love, compassion and kind deeds that foster brotherhood and social harmony,” the statement said.

It also said that the Governor urged people to live a life true to its purpose.

Vijayan, in his greetings, said that Bakrid, which is the holy festival of Muslims around the world, is a big celebration for Malayalis.

The CM, in a statement issued by his office, said that the festival which is the culmination of the holy Hajj ritual, is also a day that reminds us that the noblest expression of humanity is sacrifice.

He wished that Bakrid celebrations will help to create more unity, harmony and a spirit of dedication among the people. PTI HMP HMP ROH
